Rumor, speculation, and bat-continiuity.

I need to read more Batman to fully appreciate this next bit, but I’ll soldier on nevertheless. When DC rebooted everything into the New 52, one pocket of the DCU managed to go un-rebooted, kind of, and that was a comic called Batman, Incorporated. Basically, Bruce Wayne funds Batmen in other countries, which I figured was going to be a way to internationally publish Bat-comics “locally” in the various nations that got their own Bat-hero. It gave rise to some pretty silly costumes, and since under current continuity, Bats has only been around “about 5 years,” the whole endeavor seems to be a weird fit.
Anyway, a cover for an upcoming issue leaked onto the internet, and you can click to see it if you don’t mind an apparent spoiler about an upcoming character death. So we may be looking for a new [SPOILER REDACTED]. If nothing else, the DCU has shown it doesn’t mind putting a new warm body in an old costume, which is kind of cool, but it’s the fact that the dead often come back anyway, resulting in things like every Flash ever being alive at once. Ah, well… comics.

Actually, they’ve done a study and found that “spoilers” don’t actually “spoil” stories. In fact, they usually improve your enjoyment because some of the anxiety has been relieved, allowing readers/watchers to enjoy the story more. Spoilers rarely ever detail HOW something happens, so there is still a lot to look forward to.
