Now hang on just one Galaxy-Guarding minute, buster…

I’m not sure this headline means what the writers thought it would mean: Marvel Going After BIG Comedic Actors For ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’. Reading what’s below the headline defines “big” as Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler.
I must be getting less tolerant of certain actors being cast in films, because my first thought was “Well, the movie has laser guns, and someone needs to be used as a demonstration of how they can kill people.” My next one was “I hope I don’t have to wait through the whole movie to see them get whacked, like Snails in Dungeons & Dragons.”
Carrey is the better of the two, as he has a wider acting range (or can do more than one voice/accent), but that’s mostly in comparison to Sandler who can just do himself, for the most part.
But for the record, Louis CK, Patton Oswalt, Will Farrell, and pretty anyone from Community, Psych, or most current-run sit-coms would be “BIG Comedic Actors” as compared to at least one of the two possibilities mentioned above.
Coffee? Yes, I think I need more coffee. It helps dilute the bile a bit. Back to your regularly scheduled internet.

My nerd rage may be uncontainable if they cast Adam Sandler in a GotG movie. Even if they cast him as Bug (the member I’ve always found most annoying).
… I guess Jim Carrey might be amusing as Groot. I can sort of imagine him spending the entire movie saying, “I AM GROOT!” Plus he’d be the voice of a CGI walking tree, so I wouldn’t have to look at him.
Elath. I really wish this was a joke post. I can see it ending so disastrously with either of them. *shudder*
My first thought was that they were suing them for screwing it up. But seriously, I agree with you on Sandler, he is the reason I stopped watching SNL. Carey on the other hand I have to say that I liked him in ‘The Truman Show’ but the rest of his stuff is just silly.
Didn’t Carrey already help screw up a DC superhero movie?
Jim Carrey is more than acceptable; The Mask was phenomenal, but if they cast Adam Sandler, I’m going to boycott not only that movie, but every single movie that Marvel does from now on.
Quick, somebody send Sandler a horribly unfunny comedy script! Preferably one where he can both direct AND play two roles at once! WE MUST DISTRACT HIM!
People actually care about Guardians of the Galaxy now?
I do. I’ve been into Star-Lord since the Timothy Zahn series in the ’90s, and I enjoyed GotG for the most part.
